Pregnancy & Birth Support
Pregnancy and birth can bring excitement, uncertainty, endless information and an impressive number of opinions from absolutely everyone.
At Kamala, pregnancy and birth support is about creating space to come back to you: your body, your choices, your instincts and the kind of experience you hope to have.
My approach is warm, practical and person-centred. Whether you are preparing for birth, looking for additional support during pregnancy or simply want somewhere to slow down and feel held, support is shaped around you and your individual circumstances.
Hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing isn't about promising a perfect birth or pretending that birth always goes according to plan.
It is a practical approach to birth preparation that uses relaxation, breathing, visualisation and education to help you understand your body, explore your options and approach birth feeling more informed and confident.
Sessions can help you and your birth partner prepare together, understand the role of the nervous system during labour, practise useful relaxation and breathing techniques and think about your preferences for birth.
The aim isn't to create one particular type of birth. It's to give you tools that can remain useful however your birth unfolds.
Support During Pregnancy
Kamala also offers pregnancy-focused wellbeing treatments and experiences, including pregnancy reflexology, pregnancy lymphatic drainage and deeply relaxing sound-based sessions. Kamala also offers birth debriefs and emotional support sessions.
These can be booked individually or discussed as part of your wider pregnancy support.
Doula Support
Doula support offers continuous, non-judgemental emotional and practical support through pregnancy, birth and the transition into parenthood.
As your doula, my role is not to make decisions for you or replace your midwife or medical team. I'm there to support you: helping you explore your options, prepare for birth, communicate what matters to you and feel less alone in the process.
During labour and birth, support may include reassurance, breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures, position changes, practical support and support for your birth partner too.
At the centre of my doula work is a belief that you deserve to be listened to, respected and meaningfully involved in decisions about your own care.
Your Birth, Your Choices
There is no single 'right' way to give birth.
Birth plans sometimes change. Intervention can become necessary. Priorities can shift. What remains important is that you are given information, treated with dignity and supported to participate in the decisions being made about you and your baby.
Whether you're looking for hypnobirthing preparation, doula support or simply some additional care during pregnancy, you're welcome to get in touch for an informal conversation about what might suit you.
